The Geneva International Inventions Show, Inventions Geneva, is the largest of its kind in the world.
Founded in 1972 by Jean-Luc Vincent, the show is held each year at Palexpo. It attracts almost 800 exhibitors from 45 countries displaying 1000 inventions, and welcomes more than 60,000 visitors.
The inventions presented cover many different areas including energy, environmental protection, IT, mechanical engineering, industrial processes, watchmaking, electricity, electronics, construction and many more.
Last year, the first prize was awarded to the company VITARGENT INTERNATIONAL for their invention of a system capable of detecting toxins in areas such as medicine, plastics production, cosmetics and food; the method uses not living animals but transgenic fish.
