In Russian, Kuznya means “foundry”. And for good reason, the restaurant set up home amid one of the 19th-century red brick buildings of the New Holland island. The foundry was entirely renovated into a trendy space very popular with the Saint Petersburg youth. Kuznya has retained this industrial thematic and reveals decoration from the same era as the building, with largely Pre-Revolutionary-inspired design. Stone walls, wooden floors, rugs and geometrical patterns on warm-coloured bench seats are somehow on the kitsch side. The menu offers Russian cuisine that blends with various inspirations from around the world, from tandoori chicken to rabbit tagliatelle, crab with avocado to fritters in cream. Once you are done with dessert, the second part of the evening can start: multicoloured tables and ottomans will be removed to clear out the dancefloor. Let the party begin!
