Le Manta, romantic atmosphere in a tropical garden

A mix of Creole and metropolitan influences, Le Manta draws you in with its intimate atmosphere surrounded by Réunion flora, right on La Passe beach.

Close to Hermitage beach, a lush tropical garden hides Le Manta, a restaurant that is an absolute must on the west coast of Réunion. Once past the large exotic plants lining the entrance, you will discover a 110-sqm varangue, a sort of vast veranda typical in Réunion, which welcomes you into a romantic atmosphere. Under a vetiver roof with a charming natural wood decoration, all lit by a subdued light, your sense of smell is sent into overdrive by the aroma of the dishes. The menu combines Réunion and metropolitan specialities, from tripes à la mode de Caen to spicy Creole puddings and tartiflette with curried zourite, a small octopus found in much of the island's cuisine. The same two influences can be found in a number of fusion dishes, such as duck breast with pineapple or grouper fish blanquette. Enjoy these (in moderation, of course!) with one of the vast selection of house rums available!
