Saratoga: Neoclassical luxury

Saratoga: Neoclassical luxury

This jewel of the 1930s has been brilliantly modernised and adorned with the dazzling splendour of five stars.

Located at the intersection of Paseo del Prado and Dragones, the Saratoga overlooks the Capitol. The enfilade of Neoclassical columns on the facade in emerald green, wood, and subtle metalwork immediately sets the tone. This is one of the most popular establishments in the city.

The thaw with the US and the ever-growing appetite of tourists for the island are changing the Cuban hotel industry dramatically, but the Saratoga has been the face of luxury here since its renovation in 2005. It is a showcase of Havana's restoration skills and a portion of its profits goes to safeguarding the heritage of the city centre.

It looks and feels just as it did in the 1930s, when artists and the wealthy jostled at the reception. The rooftop terrace has a pool and a bar and a fabulous view of the hustle and bustle of Havana's seafront esplanade, the Malecón.
