Special baggage
Special rules apply to the transport of sports equipment and other special baggage items.
The information below applies to all flights provided by Air France and HOP! Air France.
Different rules may apply on flights provided by our partner airlines.
Golf bag

Are you a Flying Blue Golf member? You may transport one golf bag at no extra charge, regardless of how many baggage items you check in.* To benefit from this allowance, please visit the Flying Blue Golf website and complete the corresponding form on your “Profile” page. You will receive a voucher to print and present at the airport.
* On flights provided by AIR FRANCE, KLM, Air Corsica, Air Europa or HOP! Air France. Your golf bag must not exceed 23 kg / 50 lb in weight.

Scuba tanks
Compressed air scuba tanks are accepted in the hold, as long as they are empty and do not exceed 23 kg / 50 lb in weight. However, their transport is not included in your baggage allowance. At the airport, you must pay an extra fee* that varies based on your trip.
- Zone 1: €40
- Zone 2: €65 (or 75 USD on flights departing from a country outside the European zone)
- Zone 3: €55 (or 55 USD on flights departing from a country outside the European zone)
- Zone 4: €125 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (150 USD departing from all other countries)
- Zone 5: €100 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (150 USD departing from all other countries)
Oxygen scuba tanks are not permitted for transport in hand baggage or checked baggage.
* This fee cannot be paid online. These one-way flight fees are only valid on flights provided by AIR FRANCE, KLM and HOP! Air France.
Fishing equipment
This equipment is considered as a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Economy Mini and Basic fare tickets). However, if you want to transport more baggage items or if you exceed the baggage allowance for your ticket, you can purchase a Baggage Option online or pay a fee for this option at the airport.

Bikes and tandems
Transporting bikes, folding bikes and tandems is not included in your baggage allowance. At the airport, you must pay an extra fee* that varies based on your trip.
- Zone 1: €40
- Zone 2: €65 (or 75 USD on flights departing from a country outside the European zone)
- Zone 3: €55 (or 55 USD on flights departing from a country outside the European zone)
- Zone 4: €125 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (150 USD departing from all other countries)
- Zone 5: €100 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (100 USD departing from all other countries)
Your bike, folding bike or tandem must not exceed 23 kg / 50 lb in weight. Beyond this, you must pay a fee for the excess weight at the airport.

To prepare your bike or tandem for transport, please remember to:
- remove the pedals,
- remove the front wheel and attach it to the frame,
- fix the handlebars to the side (parallel to the frame),
- place your bike, folding bike or tandem in a protective container (cardboard, hard plastic, etc.).
Please note: when transporting a bike, folding bike or tandem on air + rail trips, SNCF requires the use of bike cases with the following maximum dimensions: 120 x 90 cm / 47 x 35 in.

Your ski equipment may include the following items:
- Alpine and cross-country skis: 1 pair of skis + 1 pair of poles + 1 pair of boots
- Snowboard: 1 board + 1 pair of boots
If you want to transport your ski helmet in the cabin, it will be considered as a hand baggage item and not an accessory. For more information, please see the Hand Baggage page.
Please note: transporting an avalanche airbag (including a gas system and pyrotechnic trigger) requires approval from our customer service department. You must submit your request at least 48 hours before your flight’s departure.
Water skis
Water ski equipment (skis only) is considered as a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Economy Mini and Basic fare tickets). Please pack your water skis in a separate travel case that does not exceed 300 cm / 118 in in length.
However, if you want to transport more baggage items or if you exceed the baggage allowance for your ticket, you can purchase a Baggage Option online or pay a fee for this option at the airport.

Scooters

Please note: for security reasons, scooters are not authorized in the cabin. They are considered dangerous as they may be sharp. They will be refused at security checkpoints, confiscated and destroyed.
* Motorized and electric scooters are not permitted in your checked baggage.
Surf, kitesurf, bodysurf, windsurf boards and longboards
Depending on the size of the board and your travel dates, the following rules apply.
You can choose your board as standard checked baggage item if it is less than 300 cm / 118 inches in length and under 32 kg / 70 lb* in weight, included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Economy Mini and Basic fare tickets). However, if you want to transport more baggage items or if you exceed the baggage allowance for your ticket, you can purchase a Baggage Option online or pay a fee for this option at the airport

If your board is less than 107 cm / 42 inches in length and under 32 kg / 70 lb in weight, it is considered a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Economy Mini and Basic fare tickets). However, if you want to transport more baggage items or if you exceed the baggage allowance for your ticket, you can purchase a Baggage Option online or pay a fee for this option at the airport.

If the board is between 107 to 300 cm / 42 to 118 inches in length and under 32 kg / 70 lb in weight, its transport is not included in your ticket price. At the airport, you must pay an extra fee** that varies based on your trip.
- Zone 1: €40
- Zone 2: €65 (or 75 USD on flights departing from a country outside the European zone)
- Zone 3: €55 (or 55 USD on flights departing from a country outside the European zone)
- Zone 4: €125 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (150 USD departing from all other countries)
- Zone 5: €100 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (150 USD departing from all other countries)
* You can transport 2 baggage items weighing up to 32 kg / 70 lb each at no extra charge on roundtrips for which the 1st flight departs from Brazil.
** On all flights provided by AIR FRANCE, KLM, Air Corsica, Air Europa and HOP! Air France. The weight of your board must not exceed 32 kg / 70 lb.
